Rejoice in the Lord Always

Holtonumc   -

Philippians 4:4 (NIV) “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”

1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (NIV)
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

We can choose to “rejoice always”, in every circumstance, even when things are not that good because rejoicing isn’t necessarily based on how we feel (happy, glad, etc.), or the life circumstances we are in. We can choose to “rejoice in the Lord always” because our rejoicing is based on who God is and what he has done for us. God is good. God is faithful, he provides for us, protects us. And so God is worthy of our rejoicing in him. In fact, our rejoicing in him often cultivates joy within us.
